PixCell-Random Series, 2024 -
The latest installment in the PixCell series invites a new perceptual experience and evokes an infinitely expanding world of color. In PixCell-Random, the colors of the beads shift and flicker depending on the viewer’s angle. The base image is generated by a custom program that randomly arranges dot colors, ensuring that every color appearing on the work is unique. With each iteration, a new dataset is created, resulting in multiple works, each with a completely different arrangement of colors.
In PixCell-Random (Cloud), a new form has been adopted for the base-colored dots. This change introduces an enigmatic sense of depth to the surface, where cloud-like shapes emerge three-dimensionally depending on the viewer’s position—thus inspiring the title (Cloud).
