Motonori Inagaki's first collection of works "elephant"
Since the early 1990s, Inagaki has continued to draw on B4 size copy paper, and currently has over 10,000 drawings. Inagaki's drawings, which do not depict phenomena or mental images, but instead attempt to capture something that has not yet been seen, transcend the time axis of production and mutually influence each other, and may be said to be a single work as a whole.
In this collection of works, Motonori Inagaki's first publication, we have selected 100 drawings, which form the basis of his work, regardless of the year of production. The total volume is 236 pages including 10 photographic works.
The contributed text was requested by Akiko Kazoya (professor at Kyoto City University of Arts), who has been watching Inagaki's work for a long time. We will carefully unravel the essence of Inagaki's works, which is difficult to grasp at first glance.
